Six schools were targeted, and all had been cleared by 11:30 a.m. K9 teams from the county and from outside agencies swept the buildings.

“In the society we live in today, it’s very contentious and a lot of threats and a lot of rhetoric. You just have to take it serious,” Jackson County Sheriff Kevin McCook said. “And we’re going to do that every single time.”

Each of those is its own incident, and they differ from one another. The Jackson County threat arrived as a recorded voicemail; the Worth County message was written on a bathroom wall. No connection between any of them has been established.
