A 42-year-old New York woman and her two young children were found living in a shed in Trenton, in Georgia's Dade County, and the woman was arrested on a New York warrant, the New York State Police said in a release issued Wednesday.
State police said U.S. Marshals located the three on Tuesday, Aug. 11. The woman, Nicole A. Koschuk, was arrested on the warrant. Her children were found to be in good health.
"The children were found to be in good health and have been turned over to the Dade County (Georgia) Department of Family and Children's Services, until they can be returned to their legal custodian," state police said in the release, published by the Wellsville Sun.
Koschuk was turned over to the Dade County Sheriff's Office in Trenton, where she is being held while New York seeks her return. WHEC in Rochester reported that she is accused of illegally taking her two children out of New York.
