What is Blaize Gallimore charged with?
A civilian employee of a New York police department is in jail in Cobb County, accused of molesting a girl at a metro Atlanta hotel.
CBS6 Albany reported from Cobb County Sheriff's Office booking records that Gallimore faces two felony child molestation counts and a misdemeanor count of willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer. WSB-TV listed the same three charges, describing the third as obstructing law enforcement. CBS News Atlanta reported that the arrest, on child molestation and obstruction charges, was made in Cobb County.
The alleged victim is a girl under the age of 16, the Marietta Daily Journal reported, citing a Cobb County Police Department arrest warrant. WSB-TV reported that arrest affidavits also put her age under 16.
Gallimore has been accused, not convicted. Nothing behind the three counts has been tested in front of a judge or a jury, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
Who is he, and who does he work for?

At a hotel pool, according to the Marietta Daily Journal, which reported that the accusation centers on the pool at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Atlanta Northwest on Interstate North and puts the alleged incident on Aug. 5 at noon.
CBS6 Albany reported that sheriff's records place the arrest at 230 Interstate North Parkway, the address it gives for the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Atlanta Northwest. The Marietta Daily Journal wrote the address as 230 Interstate North Circle. Spectrum News reported the arrest happened at an Atlanta-area hotel.
WSB-TV reported that it was not immediately clear what had brought Gallimore to Cobb County.
Why is there an obstruction charge too?
Because of what police say happened when they tried to stop his car.
WSB-TV reported that the obstruction count followed an attempt to drive off when Cobb County officers moved to make a traffic stop, and quoted an arrest warrant saying that "officers in marked patrol vehicle attempted to perform a traffic stop and he did not stop," and that he "continued to disobey officers lawful commands." WNYT NewsChannel 13 reported that officers tried to pull him over at the hotel and that he did not stop.
Why was bail denied, and what happens Aug. 26?
WNYT NewsChannel 13 reported that Gallimore appeared in the Magistrate Court of Cobb County in Marietta on Aug. 10, the day of his arrest, and was denied bail. The station reported that the court has him due back on Aug. 26 for another bail hearing.
He remains locked up in the meantime. WSB-TV reported that he is in the Cobb County Jail without bond,
A bail decision settles one question only: whether a defendant waits for the case at home or in a cell. It is not a verdict, and it is not a finding that the accusation is true.
Which agencies are handling the case?
The criminal case belongs to Georgia. WSB-TV published a statement from Albany police naming the Cobb County Police Department as the agency that filed the charges, in Marietta, and CBS6 Albany reported that Cobb County police notified the New York department of the arrest. Booking and jail records in the case come from the Cobb County Sheriff's Office, per CBS6 Albany. WNYT NewsChannel 13 attributed both the arrest and the charges to the sheriff's office rather than to Cobb County police.
CBS6 Albany and CBS News Atlanta reported that Albany police are sending questions about the criminal investigation to the Cobb County Police Department.

What has the Albany Police Department said?
That the charges have nothing to do with the job. In a statement carried by WSB-TV, the department said it had been made aware that charges were filed against Gallimore by Cobb County police in Marietta and that "these charges are unrelated to his duties as a Telecommunications Specialist or any matter involving the Albany Police Department."
The department has him suspended without pay with administrative action still pending, according to WSB-TV, CBS6 Albany, WAMC, WNYT NewsChannel 13 and Spectrum News. CBS6 Albany and CBS News Atlanta quoted the department saying it "strives to provide transparency by holding all members of the department accountable." WNYT NewsChannel 13 reported that the department will not comment further until the criminal investigation is resolved.
What does "charged, not convicted" mean here?
It means an officer swore out a warrant and a court accepted the charges for processing. That is the beginning of a case, not the end of one.
No court has weighed the evidence behind the two molestation counts or the obstruction count. Gallimore is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
