What happened overnight across metro Atlanta?

FOX 5 Atlanta reported that storms moving across metro Atlanta overnight left trees down, vehicles damaged and power lines on the ground. Thousands of people were without power early Tuesday after the storms passed through, Atlanta News First reported.

FOX 5 Atlanta reported that comparable calls about fallen trees and lines came in from around the metro area while the storms passed. Atlanta News First also reported downed trees in several other parts of metro Atlanta.

Where did trees and power lines come down in Atlanta?

FOX 5 Atlanta reported that a large tree fell on Abner Place in northwest Atlanta, coming down across several parked vehicles, one of them a van. The outlet said its video from the scene showed heavy branches lying over the vehicles.

FOX 5 Atlanta reported that Browns Mill Road also had storm damage, with power lines knocked down there. Atlanta News First placed the damage on Browns Mill Road and Adelle Street SE, where it said a tree snapped and brought several lines down in a Fulton County neighborhood.

Atlanta News First put the peak at about 10,000 customers out during the overnight hours, a figure that had fallen to roughly 600 by close to 6 a.m., with Georgia Power crews still working at that point.
